I thought it was a good event. The un-conference format was great for opening up communication. Though I think the groups were a little large and some of the more soft spoken folks got drowned out. Also, I like to be prepared. I would prefer to know a little more in advance the subject matters. It is hard to present anything exciting when in reality you are "spit balling" on a topic.

Any word on the presenters this month?

Who attended?

  • 226 attendees
    •  It was good to talk to some people.
    •  Maybe a topic for the un-conference should have been: How do we build the New Tech community in Denver/Boulder?
    •  Great to see that there is an open and collaborative tech community in the Denver area. I am looking forward to the next meeting and getting more involved.
    •  I hope the meeting in Denver continues.
    •  H1N1 seemed like it would be more fun that evening.
    •  Great meeting, as always!
    •  Really enjoyed the "un-conference" format. Personally got a lot more out of it.
    •  Good format for the "un-conference" section. However, there are so many talented people with a passion for the niches of industry they are in that our group format tonight was a bit like herding cats! It was hard most of the time to keep the whole group focused, and too many side conversations going on to hear and grasp whatever points individuals were trying to make. Of course, the same problem occurs at a dinner table of more than 7 people.

good unconference format - nice switch - good job Robert!
    •  No beer?!?!?!? The format for the meeting was good to try, but in the end I think it was a flop. Just not enough interesting information came out of it. I like hearing new things, and I didn't really hear anything new from any of the groups.
    •  I liked the 'un-conference' approach and breaking out into small groups. The presentations could have been a little more 'formulaic' to maximize affect. I think it would be interesting if people could either be seated by discipine (IT, Networking, Marketing, Ecommerce, Programmers, Sales, etc) or if there could be a way for us to identify other people in our field to network with directly. As well, perhaps a section where hiring managers set up a small table and accept resumes. I met some great people and really enjoyed the format! Will attend again.
    •  Enjoyed the presenters and the "unconference" breakouts on different tech topics.
    •  The "unconference" was good, but I did miss having the 5 presentations. That is the core reason I attend.
    •  I liked the format a lot. It was my first meetup. It was a great way to open up communication with others. One issue I found is that the groups were a little large so sometimes it was hard to hear all points of view or to interject your own. You really had to speak up(and at some points interrupt) to be heard. I am kind of a loud mouth so did not have too much trouble but it seemed a little unfortunate for some of the more soft spoken people. Did I miss a post about the topics? It would have been nice to know them in advance to get a little more familiar with the subject matter. Anyways, I had fun and plan on attending from now on. dRb Daniel Braucher
    •  It was nice to get together into small groups and discuss a particular topic. I was impressed with the level of subject matter knowledge in the breakout group I was part of. I'd like to get a better feel for who is attending and what their backgrounds are. There is a tremendous amount of knowledge and skill in the room and unless there's a more efficient way for attendees to convey their background, it's going to be difficult for any attendee to make the connections they want to make when there are 100 plus people in a room. I suggest that after announcements a group of say 20 people get on the stage and introduce themselves in just a few words. This would give everyone a better grasp of who is coming to the meeting and what they hope to get out of it.

Loved the 'unconference' approach. Met more people, learned much more about the tech topics. Great to have 2-way dialogue vs just being presented to. Great idea.
    •  The "unconference" was good for thinking out of the box and networking with the people in the group. I still like to see the new technology.
    •  I prefer the more traditional presentation format - 6 companies/presenters get 5 minutes to present and then 5 minutes for questions and answers. This format provides a better view of what's new in the Denver tech community. However, tonight's format of impromptu small group discussions on designated topics provided a greater opportunity to network and meet new individuals.
