New Tech Denver on Feb 16th is going to focus on solving real world problems. SnapImpact the group behind www.snapimpact.org is helping me organize a night of participation. We are going to get 5 groups to present requirements traditional New Tech Style, but with a twist. The groups are going to ask for your help solving these problems. Then, we bring out pizza/munchies, pick the projects we want to support, reach deep into our big brains and crush 1 or more of these problems before going home.

Boulder Denver, this is an official call for participation. Click here http://www.bdnewtech.... register. Laptops will NOT be provided so please bring your own, but we will provide access to the DarkNet.

No event at the Pepsi Center that night, so parking will not be much of an issue once again. Sweet!

    •  What an unexpected pleasure to help the non-profits and to get an opportunity at an impromptu working session with perfect strangers.
    •  Great idea about bringing tech people with non profits. Great night. It was one of the better ones to network at as well. The 1 minute introductions doesn't tend to get the job done.
    •  I really liked the format of helping non-profits get started. I wish I could have attended more than one breakout group. You're doing great, Rob.
    •  The non-profit thing worked well. A good new annual tradition...

This was organized incredibly well. It was easy to understand what each non-profit needed and gave us all a chance to offer our area of expertise in web dev, design, testing, QA, DBA, project mgmt, strategy, etc. Awesome! At a future session it'd be great to see the results!!!
    •  This was a great experience - it was nice to learn about what some really motivated folks are doing in the nonprofit space, and it was certainly fun to help. Also, pizza!
    •  The Non-Profit Event was awesome. There were great presentations from very deserving groups and I think #BDNT came together and helped make a difference!
    •  I really liked the format - very enjoyable to help some worthy causes surrounded by brilliant people. Robert, thanks for setting this up - I was honored to be a part.
    •  I had a great experience at the last Meetup in 2009. This one could have been better if the non profit presenters were better prepared and possibly better screened. The objectives they were after were not clear so it was not an incentive for me to take valuable time to contribute. I wish them all the best in moving forward with their requests. But I really did not understand what most of the presenters wanted. A bit better preparedness would make it worthwhile to devote time and expertise to helping a good cause.
    •  Really enjoyed the group session after the nonprofit presented. It was a great chance to help the nonprofits and an excellent opportunity to meet people.
    •  This was the best of NewTechDenver's meetups I've been to. In my group, several well versed people spoke on specifics Ashoka/A New Denver should work in to make its social networking segment of getting the word out/getting a buzz going. Everyone participated, gave the subjects a lot of concrete sufggestions, and also participation as an ongoing working group as the project comes together. I look forward to working with all of the folks participating again, and met them on a level I never would have at a traditional meeting, as most of them would not have spoken out in the large group setting. This was a total win. I'll be there for other meetings, but definitely be there when you do this again. I urge you to keep tabs on the outcomes of various groups- I believe they will be substantial based on what I saw in my group!
    •  This was my first meetup. Although this time the format was different I found it very productive and a great way to network.
