This Meetup repeats on the 1st Tuesday of every month.

BDNT is doing something different on July 6th and we need your help to make it a success.

We are lining up multiple NonProfits who will be presenting New Tech style, but with a twist. Once all of the groups are finished on the podium we're going to get down to business and make the world a better place by solving their tech needs. Bring your laptops, power chords and favorite IDE and New Tech will provide the beer, pizza and late night snacks.

If you are a technical product manager with all types of certificates and maybe even some coding experience we need you to step up early and take charge. Please email [masked] or [masked] and let them know you would be willing to run a group.

NonProfits if you need help fixing, building, designing or evolving your databases, websites, social media strategies, or anything else technical July 6th will be your chance to meet the local community. If you want to participate email [masked] or [masked]. Applications are due no later than 5pm MT on June 18th.

This was an awesome way to contribute back to the community and help out the local non-profits in Boulder/Denver, CO - Love the good karma.

Who attended?

  • 300 attendees
    •  great format for presentations - loved seeing the non-profits
    •  It seemed like a good event for the non-profits, and community in general.
    •  It was great helping out non-profit organizations. I feel like I had a good integrated learning experience at the same time I was helping out great groups.
    •  Helping nonprofits is an awesome way to network: You get to work with others, demonstrating your skills and talents and discovering theirs. Very powerful concept. Every New Tech should be like this.
    •  Non-profit presentations were informative
    •  Great execution on volunteer development!
    •  This was my first meetup. I really like the energy and attitude within the group and the purpose of this months "project". I will definitely attend whenever possible.
    •  I am really upset with myself because I fell asleep and missed it!!!! I'll make it next time!
    •  It was good; hard work keeping those folks on a clock but it worked. Interesting to see their technology needs.
    •  This was a fantastic experience! The creativity, technical and administrative prowess, and the dedication to community…. Well, it just doesn’t get any better than that! Cheers to the BDNT organizers and the other amazing volunteers. It was a privilege to be included.
    •  I found it to be very well organized!
    •  The presentations were great - very moving. The food timing was disruptive. Would have been better to have the pizza before the presentations, so people would immediately adjourn to the breakouts. I waited about an hour for everyone to gather, which seemed like forever after a long work day. I also think this cause the breakouts to be less productive. People dribbled in, so there was no real introduction of the people in the room and what they would be able and willing to bring to the process. I love the concept, but these breakout issues made the session less productive, which was disappointing for me. I think it would be really great to do this again with these minor adjustments.
    •  Due to the "project work" nature of this meetup, this was the first meetup where I actually got to meet and know someone. I strongly recommend having a format like this on a 3 to 6 month interval and see what it could grow into.
    •  Great idea for an event, wonderful pacing and organization. Only thing that might have been better is to have declared a start time for the breakouts. In our group, some came directly to the room , and others ate pizza for 20 mins, so we sorta did intros 2x.

Great format and energy showed for the non-profits. BDNT shoiuld do it at least twice a year judging from the enormus yet basic tech needs of the non-profit community .
    •  This was my first Meetup and I really enjoyed it. Great people and great atmosphere.
    •  This would be great as a twice a year event. I was impressed at the number of persons willing to assist the NPO sector with their tech related issues. Let's give a shout-out to Robert Reich!
    •  As a newbie to Boulder I am amazed at the resources, brilliance, and generosity of the NewTech Members. I am thrilled to be part of such a great group!
    •  Great local group presentations, good timing for both presenting and Q&A.
