Like the RMIUG of the olden days - PLUS a MST3K-like environment with the Twitter feed. Now if only I could have gotten wi-fi working on the iPhone. Very fun - great sponsors and good opportunity to meetup with iVolunteer folks.

This is my first meetup event - what can I expect?

Who attended?

  • 395 attendees
    •  Good vibe, great presos. Might consider a brief walk-thru just prior to the event to shore up any tech issues. Need more "meet your neighbor" breaks between demos - easier way to network instead of trying to interject into conversations before and after the event. Liked the questions/prizes. Wish I'd known the answers for a $100 gift cert to Hapa!!
    •  Not enough space
    •  good energy....good pace...the presenters were fun and lively...no reading from a powerpoint...very interactive....best new tech meetup in many months....trivia is fun....I like Robert's emphasis on helping companies get improved ideas, and helping match employers with the unemployed/underemployed. Gotta like free swag!
    •  Really fun and informative, as always!
    •  Great meetup, once again.
    •  Compared to the first meetup I went to in North Denver .... I definitely enjoyed the social and hospitable aspect of the Boulder Meetup as opposed to the North Denver Meetup (comfy chairs, drinks, etc). The facilities were more comfortable and warming than North Denver. I was a little less enthused by the lineup company wise, but this may have been attributed to the fact that this was my second meetup I have ever attended and the stigma was not as exciting as the first time. I obviously liked having to travel less because I'm from Boulder. Given the fact that the venue was in Boulder I felt that the people were more laid back and open (less stuffy than Denver), but then again, I think that's a virtue of Boulder. The format of the meeting in Boulder was more chill, be it the people, be it people's openness to networking. The after hours was great! The real time "smug" twittering was annoying and didn't add to the overall synergy. The sincere twitters were okay - overall it detracted
    •  Fun atmosphere. Great networking & information sharing. Would like to hear from experienced companies too - what's working, what's not.
    •  I thoroughly enjoyed it! This was my first time and I was impressed with the turn out, the energy in the room (lots of excitement) and the presentation format. Very inspirational.
    •  Rockin' session tonight. Not a bad presentation in the place. Standouts were TheBlogFrog + iVolunteer.
    •  The quality and value of the presentations keeps getting better. This is a fun crowd.
    •  Mr. Reich does an excellent job of drawing a great crowd! I learn something at every event and the people are great!
    •  No iPhone connectivity? What's the userid/password for the CU guest network?
    •  Great energy and many thanks to Rob and the sponsors for the pop quizzes and prizes during the lulls!
    •  Great energy.
    •  I would enjoy hearing from later stage companies that have launched product, service or technology - almost an ops review format.
    •  Great group - lots of good people, excellent interaction between the presenters and audience, and very informative, overall. Loved the ongoing Twitter feed on the small screens -- that was nothing short of hysterical. Added bonus that people had the ability to stand up and look for jobs in the industry, as well as companies looking for people to fill jobs - well done, guys! The best Meetup group I have attended so far.
    •  This was my first time attending the New Tech Boulder Meetup. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I am going to attend on a regular basis. Very well organized, very friendly, and it was a great learning experience.
    •  Intriguing. Exciting. Fun. Funny. Free food. Free beer. Geeky. Cool. What more could you want?
    •  Really disappointed with showing of trash like Sex, God, Rock&Roll. I avoid movie theaters because of that crap, at least there I have fair warning of what to expect.
    •  Once again, Robert and team pulled the event off with aplomb. The community sharing was in high form tonight; great feedback and questions for those presenting. Kudos to the person who knew Boom Boom Pow was the #1 iTunes hit.
    •  I really enjoyed the group and found some valuable 'takeaways' - thanks!
    •  I think name tags which would identify individual, presenter, vendor, etc. would be useful. I would volunteer for any registration and sign in.
